The Multi-domain Solutions Division (MDS) within the Leidos National Security Sector is seeking a skilled Computer Operator to join a new cyber security program and play a key role in supporting government-critical systems. You will be part of a program that oversees development, integration, delivery, and operations and maintenance of IT managed security services, which encompasses support to monitor the cybersecurity threat and security posture situational awareness for the enterprise. This opportunity is in anticipation of a future contract award! Responsibilities include monitoring, maintaining, and securing critical IT systems and infrastructure within a classified environment; ensuring smooth operation of systems, executing batch processes, responding to security alerts, and maintaining compliance with stringent government regulations; monitoring system consoles, applications, and batch jobs to identify errors or performance issues; responding promptly to system alerts, error messages, and job failures; restarting failed processes and escalating unresolved issues; scheduling, monitoring, and maintaining batch jobs and automated tasks; reviewing job logs; initiating and monitoring system backups; verifying backup integrity and performing restoration tests; managing media rotation and secure storage of backup copies; assisting in applying system updates, patches, and configuration changes; performing system reboots and routine maintenance; providing first-level support to end-users; maintaining accurate records of system activity; and documenting standard operating procedures and incident reports. Requirements include an active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph security clearance, U.S. citizenship, a Bachelor's degree with 8 to 12 years of experience or a Master's with 6 to 10 years of experience (experience may be considered in lieu of a degree), basic knowledge of Windows, Linux, or UNIX operating systems, ability to run system commands and troubleshoot errors, understanding of batch job scheduling and monitoring, familiarity with backup procedures and data recovery, basic knowledge of computer hardware and network protocols, and strong analytical skills. Favorable qualifications include familiarity with data center operations, ITIL processes, and experience with enterprise-level applications and databases.
