Role Overview

The Ecommerce Manager will take ownership of our online retail operations, driving performance across Amazon USA, Amazon Canada, and Shopify. You’ll collaborate with 3PL partners, oversee imports/exports, manage freight and drayage logistics, run profitability analysis, and build SOPs and systems that set us up for scale. This is a contract-to-hire role with an initial 3–6 month contract period . If clear success is demonstrated in this role, the position will transition into a full-time role with benefits including healthcare and a 401(k) .

Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize daily operations for Amazon USA, Amazon Canada, and Shopify channels.
  • Oversee imports/exports including HTS classification, customs compliance, and working with freight forwarders.
  • Coordinate drayage, ocean/air shipments, and organize optimal LTL freight strategies to reduce costs and improve lead times.
  • Track and process duty drawbacks, ensuring compliance and capturing savings opportunities.
  • Oversee inventory control and forecasting, SKU database management, and replenishment strategies to stay ahead of demand.
  • Build and maintain scalable systems and SOPs, leveraging project management software such as Notion to organize workflows, processes, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • Ecommerce Expertise: 3–5 years of experience managing ecommerce operations, with hands-on responsibility for Amazon USA, Amazon Canada, and Shopify accounts, including FBA, product listings, advertising, and promotions.
  • Imports/Exports Knowledge: Strong understanding of international trade, including HTS codes, customs regulations, duty drawback working with freight forwarders, and managing compliance to minimize risk and delays.
  • Logistics Management: Demonstrated ability to coordinate drayage, LTL, and freight shipments, balancing cost, efficiency, and timeliness to support seamless supply chain operations.
  • Inventory Control & Forecasting: Proven experience in inventory forecasting, demand planning, and SKU-level tracking to prevent stockouts or overstock situations, with a focus on seasonal fluctuations.
  • SKU Database Management: Ability to build, maintain, and optimize a robust SKU database, ensuring accurate data across systems and improving reporting, analysis, and decision-making.
  • Systems & Process Building: Experience implementing SOPs, process flows, and project management systems (preferably Notion) to improve visibility, accountability, and scalability in a growing business.
  • Financial & Profitability Analysis: Strong analytical skills with the ability to model costs, margins, and profitability at the SKU and channel level, providing insights that drive smarter strategic decisions.
  • Team Building & Collaboration: Comfortable working in a small-business environment, able to mentor junior staff, foster accountability, and collaborate closely with leadership and cross-functional partners.
