About the Role
We’re hiring a Tax Staff Accountant to lead and support our growing bookkeeping team. This role is ideal for an experienced tax professional with a passion for mentorship, process improvement, and leadership.
Our tax team is stretched thin — and we’re looking for someone to bridge the gap. You’ll help strengthen our bookkeeping department, improve workflows, and provide high-level support to both staff and clients.
This is not a remote position . You'll work onsite with a dynamic, engaged team — and help make our already-great office even better.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, train, and mentor the bookkeeping team, serving as the go-to expert on processes and complex questions.
Review bookkeeping work for accuracy, completeness, and tax-readiness.
Develop and maintain SOPs and training materials for internal use.
Provide elevated support to bookkeeping clients through direct communication and strategic insights.
Collaborate with the tax team and assist with overflow during peak seasons (e.g., tax prep, client follow-ups).
Identify opportunities for operational improvements and increased client satisfaction.
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of tax preparation experience in public accounting.
5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online/Desktop and related accounting tools.
Prior leadership or team management experience (3+ years preferred).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills — able to coach, train, and build trust with both clients and staff.
Experience in CFO-level oversight or analytical review is a strong plus.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
A passion for mentoring and elevating team performance.
