Summary We are looking for motivated Thermal Engineers to join our dynamic engineering team to support the product development of Cooler Master’s thermal solutions. As a member of the engineering group based in the Bay Area, you will be facing customers directly and involved in NPI (new product introduction) projects in the business sector of AI chip cooling, gaming, data center cooling, automotive, and robotics. You will collaboratively work with our engineering and manufacturing teams in Asia to deliver cutting edge electronics cooling products. In addition, you will be responsible for evaluating new product designs by numerical models, testing/validating their performance experimentally, and supporting our production and RMA activities in North America. We are looking for middle to senior-level candidates but not limited to. Final level will be determined based on candidates’ technical background and years of experience in the industry. Role & Responsibilities Support internal teams to ensure alignment in production and quality control. Perform component to system-level thermal modeling to analyze and optimize thermal performance. Lead the modeling part in a new product introduction process, and work with manufacturing teams to propose feasible, reliable, and cost-effective design. Research advanced thermal management materials and solutions. Maintain documentation, guidelines, and tools for design and production processes. Travel domestically (less than 10 percent) to support design, build, and RMA activities. Qualifications Bachelor’s or higher degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering disciplines with more than 5 years of technical experience in electronic cooling. Proficiency with CFD modeling software such as FloEFD, Flotherm, or Ansys Icepak; Expertise in conducting CFD 3D simulation and other modeling tools to predict thermal profiles and cooling performance. Experience with CAD tools, e.g. Solid Works, Catia, or Creo (preferred) for thermal and mechanical design. Strong background in fluid dynamics, gas dynamics, and heat transfer fundamentals including conduction, convection, and radiation. Ability to perform preliminary design estimations and post-processing sanity checks. Knowledge of state-of-art thermal management solutions for electronic cooling, such as heat sinks, heat pipes, vacuum chamber, cold plates, and CDU. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team. Strong technical documentation skills and excellent written and verbal communication. Preferred Experiences Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field focusing on thermodynamics and fluid dynamics discipline. System-level design and operational experience for rack-level thermal management solutions in data centers. Experience conducting experiments to benchmark product performance, requirement validation, and design characterization. Experience with two-phase flow applications, experimentally or analytically. Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python) for data analysis and tool development.
